Legal Requirements for Weddings in St Vincent and The Grenadines
There are two types of marriage license in St Vincent and The Grenadines
Special Governor General License
This type of marriage license requires you both to be in the country for one day prior to applying. A Caribbean Wedding will prepare the paperwork in advance and accompany you to Kingstown. There are several different government offices to visit, but with our help it takes approximately 2 hours to complete and you receive your license the same day.
If you are staying on one of the Grenadine Islands we will arrange for you to travel either by ferry from Bequia or by small plane from the other Grenadine Islands to Kingstown to obtain the marriage license.
Marriage license laws of St. Vincent & The Grenadines state that the only documents required are:
Current passports
Divorce Absolute if divorced
Death Certificate if widowed
All documents must be translated into English. Our Island Wedding requirements are simple with no blood tests or birth certificates necessary.
Regular License
Those spending a little more time in the country can apply for a regular license, with only one government office to visit and less fees to pay. For this license you must be in the country for 15 days prior to your application. There is a waiting time of 9 working days before your license is granted.
